THE STORY OF LUCKYSTICKZ

THERE WAS MUSIC BEFORE THERE WAS LUCKYSTICKZ.

IT BEGAN WITH RHYTHM.

Luckystickz didn't begin as a brand.

It began with rhythm.

Raised in Hamilton, Ontario, in a family with Jamaican and Trinidadian roots, Dejehan Hamilton encountered music early—first through drums, then percussion, and eventually through the instrument that would become inseparable from his story: the steelpan.

Music became more than something he played.

It became a language.

FINDING HIS SOUND

Steelpan opened one door.

His voice opened another.

As Dejehan developed as a musician, songwriting and singing became increasingly important parts of his artistic identity. The goal was never to choose between vocalist, percussionist or pannist.

It was to find a place where all of those pieces could belong.

That place became Luckystickz.

His sound grew from the music surrounding him—Gospel, R&B, Soca, Dancehall and Pop—while the steelpan gave him a musical voice that very few contemporary artists were using in the same way.

HAMILTON TO BERKLEE

That journey eventually took him from Hamilton to Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Dejehan attended Berklee on scholarship and graduated in Music Business/Management.

The experience strengthened both sides of his career: the artist who wanted to make meaningful music, and the entrepreneur determined to understand the business behind it.

BUILDING LUCKYSTICKZ

What followed was a career that refused to stay inside a single definition.

As Luckystickz, he released original music, performed internationally and developed a signature approach that brings soulful vocals and steelpan together.

His catalogue includes the EPs Every Day Battle and Housewarming Party, alongside singles including Be Mine, Magic, Still Love Me and Strangers.

And as audiences experienced his musicianship beyond traditional concerts, another side of the brand grew naturally—the Luckystickz Signature Steelpan Experience.

Not a different artist.

Another expression of the same one.

MORE THAN A CAREER

Music eventually became the vehicle through which Dejehan could build more than his own career.

His work developing artists and creating opportunities for young people led to the founding of Tune In Foundation and a broader career in leadership, education and community impact.

Those parts of his work now live under his own name—Dejehan Hamilton—allowing Luckystickz to remain what it was always meant to be:

the artist.

AND THE MUSIC CONTINUES.

Luckystickz isn't interested in preserving steelpan behind glass.

He wants to see where it can go next.

Into R&B.
Onto festival stages.
Into rooms where audiences weren't expecting it.
Alongside his own voice.
And into music that sounds unmistakably like him.
